Last February in Guatemala's Barceló Hotel, the 2009 Contribution to the Community Awards ceremony took place, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce, during which Atento's Employee Development Program received an award as the best prepared and implemented in the country.
The American Chamber's president, Mr. Juan Carrasco, asserted that Atento "is a company that invests in its most important capital, the human capital. We were impressed by the quantity, endurance, and sustainability of the employee training project that you develop. We urge you to continue investing in this capital, we believe that development of human talent is the most important possible, not only for the company's development, but also for the growth of Guatemala."
Then followed Stewart Ferguson, Country Manager for Atento Central America, who pointed out: "There is no doubt that this is an acknowledgement of all the efforts by the Human Resources team, which is in line with the Group's philosophy with regard to contributions to the community." For many of our staff members, this has been their first job, and they acquired in Atento their technical and human skills which will surely make them better professionals."
